How to Draw Eyes

Learning how to draw eyes is something that we all challenge as artists. Sadly enough I cannot make any drawing tutorials of my own due to no drawing hardware for computers. However, I could make drawing videos. We’ll see what happens, but at the mean time, I found two awesome drawing tutorials on the web that you may find helpful. One drawing tutorial is from Dragoart, and the other is from YouTube (The one above.)

Now let’s talk about drawing eyes – if you want to practice yourself with drawing eyes, I find it extremely helpful to practice drawing basic circles, shading round objects, and drawing water. Drawing circles will help you drawing the perfect shape of the human eye, or any other, of course. Shading round objects will help you shade the eye of which you are drawing. For most – drawing/sketching water will help you understand how to make an eye look… glossy.

It all comes down to technique, and at the very moment I cannot show my own skills but share other’s. Look at how the artist who drew an eye shades and shapes. It does not have to be a human eye, but also an animal’s/thing’s eye. Try studying and researching by looking at books and artwork. You can find much artwork here: Deviantart – Eyeballs. If you like, you can learn how to draw variety amount of eyes here: How to Draw Eyes. Both links highly helpful, and could help you draw the perfect eye. My top choice of learning how to draw a human eye is shared below. You can view the original here, if you want to view the tutorial images larger: How to Draw an Eyeball. Hope you find it helpful.

I hope you found the tutorial helpful. You should find all tutorials on this website/directory helpful, but the others will not be as descriptive. As of now, I will only be sharing useful drawing tutorials from the web of which I find. All I ask of you in return is to share the things you like about this site. Share it with your friends.

How to Draw Realistic Eyes

Hello there fellow artist – we will be learning how to draw realistic eyes. I found some great tutorials to share and think they will really help. Just remember when you are drawing a realistic eye, you must realizing shading doesn’t make it better. Just because it’s called realistic, doesn’t mean you overly shade. Realistic to a true artist is a piece of art that is based and looks like a certain person, place, or thing. So if I give you a drawing of something and looks close to an eye, but has lots of shading, then you really cannot call it realistic. If I drew you an eye that has the exact shapes and looks like an eyeball, then that’s more realistic. Also be sure to view my first tutorial on how to draw eyes here because it could really help with this lesson: How to Draw Eyes.

What I’m trying to explain is that shading isn’t the key to make any drawing realistic. The exact shapes come first, and then the shading. If you want to use proper shading, then visit this website: How to Shade. It teaches you how to shade, but it also teaches you what you must do before you shade.

Anyway, below is one of the great tutorials found. If you want to view the original drawing tutorial, go here: How to Draw A Realistic Eye. Find it helpful hopefully!
